So you decided that you are interested in beginning your journey into the digital future by buying digital assets. We have been there and we appreciate your enthusiasm. Before you start, we want to share some general information about the process.
Coinbase is one of the oldest and reputable exchanges in the industry. They are a regulated US based company that follows strict SEC guidelines. This requires you to provide information/documentation to verify your identity. They also are very security conscience requiring what is called 2FA or 2 factor authentication. When you sign on, in addition to providing a password, they send you a text message with a new pin code you use to verify your identity. As a beginner you can feel safe storing your assets with them. They have an excellent mobile app and you can use your phone to make purchase. They offer many different currency's including Cardano, Bitcoin, Ethereum and over 30 others. You can purchase with your debit/credit card or use a direct bank transfer from you checking account.
Bittrex is another great place to buy and exchange digital assets. They have an extensive list of currency's with the ability to purchase directly with a credit/debit card or bank credit card. Like Coinbase they are SEC regulated and follow strict guidelines. They use 2FA as well via email, and provide a good mobile app. You can purchase many different assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Cardano's ADA. Of note is that certain US States do not allow purchase via an exchange. You would need to verify if your state is available on their website.
Binance is the largest Digital Asset exchange in the world. Their US exchange offers a wide range of assets, an excellent mobile app and great security. Also available is a staking service for projects including Vechain, Algo, Atom and Tezos. You can purchase directly many currencies including Cardano, Bitcoin, Ethereum and ADA plus many more. They have programs where you can make recurring purchases. You can buy via your debit/credit card or though a direct bank transfer.
Binance is a regulated exchange and requires some documentation for proof of identity and has 2FA with Google authenticater
The Trezor Model one was our first digital wallet. We have stored our Bitcoin and Ethereum on it. Plugs into USB port and has a display where you get a pin to enter to unlock. Must use though your PC and Google Chrome. You also need to download Trezor Bridge for chrome.
Upside- Inexpensive and easy to use, good first hardware wallet
Downside- Limited amount of assets. not going to add more.

Ledger Nano S is the entry level wallet from ledger. We use it for several different assets. Plugs into USB port, has a good interface and many different assets. Manage on your PC. It is a good first wallet with good support
Upside- Easy to use, good interface and inexpensive.
Downside- Small display, a little harder to set up.

High end Trezor Model T is the high end version of the Trezor wallet. Support for over 1000 different assets. Good interface, large LCD display.
Upside- Very easy to set up and has extensive assets.
Downside- More expensive
